PM MITRA: Transforming India’s Textile Future with Mega Parks
Seven world-class textile parks set to attract massive investments, boost exports, and create millions of jobs by 2028.
The Government of India has unveiled an ambitious initiative to make India a global textile hub—PM MITRA (Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel Parks). This flagship scheme is designed to strengthen India’s textile and apparel ecosystem, enhance competitiveness, and generate large-scale employment.
Under the scheme, seven mega textile parks have been finalized across key states:
- Tamil Nadu (Virudhunagar)
- Telangana (Warangal)
- Gujarat (Navsari)
- Karnataka (Kalaburagi)
- Madhya Pradesh (Dhar)
- Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow)
- Maharashtra (Amravati)
With an outlay of ₹4,445 crore up to 2027-28, these parks are expected to attract investments worth ₹70,000 crore and create nearly 2 million direct and indirect jobs.
The vision behind PM MITRA is to integrate the entire textile value chain—spinning, weaving, processing, dyeing, printing, and garment manufacturing—within one ecosystem. This will reduce logistics costs, improve efficiency, and ensure higher-quality output aligned with global standards.
Additionally, the initiative emphasizes sustainability and innovation by encouraging green technology, waste management, and eco-friendly production methods. These parks are expected to empower both domestic manufacturers and exporters, enhancing India’s competitiveness in international markets.
PM MITRA is not just an industrial plan—it is a transformative step towards positioning India as a global leader in textiles and apparel while providing opportunities to millions of skilled and semi-skilled workers.
